The last adventure of Indiana Jones is the first escape room offered by Escape Arena Bucharest, and one of the most interesting and full of surprises missions we took on. As we were playing the game, discovering new elements and solving the puzzles, the escape room was becoming more and more enticing, up to the point where it became one of our favorites.
Reception: The thing they have to work the most on is their reception room. Escape Arena has a rather small space, very poorly decorated but still relatively comfy and good enough for a single team that would play the game. We’re hoping they will do the improvements they said they would, as they grow. They are very easy to find, and they are located in an area with quite a few public transportation stops.
The story of ‘the last adventure of Indiana Jones’: As you can probably tell from the title, the main character of this mission is Indiana Jones, who’s always looking for artefacts and new adventures. This time, he’s after the Holy Grail, but he has gone missing, and nobody knows if he’s still alive or not. You and your team are his students, and you’ve decided to go search for him, by using his office journal. The game happens in the temple where he was last seen, and your task is to find out its secrets and try to survive its traps.
Design: As soon as we entered the temple, we were impressed by the design and the attention to detail for everything. There are no elements left here by chance, everything is perfectly integrated in the process of solving the puzzles. Even if initially it may seem like a lot of the objects haven’t got a role in the story of this room, as you advance through the game, you slowly realize everything has an explanation. The soundtrack and special effects are perfect for such an adventurous search for an artefact.
Puzzles: This is the part of this escape room that impressed us the most. In terms of difficulty, we think this game will be mostly appreciated by players who’ve already played a few games before, especially due to the variety of puzzles and abilities needed to solve them. We recommend teams of 4 for this game even though it can be played in 2-6 players. Most puzzles need both a good level of attention and dexterity and most of them are created using modern technology. Every puzzle leads to a clue for solving the following one, and communication between players is vital for a successful mission.
Game Master: The game masters from Escape Arena are very passionate about escape rooms, and they also enjoy to play. They are also the ones who have done all of the hard work behind this amazing mission. The game was correctly coordinated and the instructions they gave us were very useful.
The last adventure of Indiana Jones is one of the best rooms we’ve ever played and we’re looking forward to coming back to visit Escape Arena for another great mission. This is also one of the very few escape rooms we got to play as all 4 of the OGs Escape Advisors.
